Awesome-ness

That's pretty much the best way to describe out Christmas. Thomas got so much, it's really kind of funny because he has no idea, so it's mostly all for me and James :) All in all it as pretty great! Thomas got a fun play set, some great books, a super cute Thomas the train engine plate set, clothes, a toy for his car seat and other stuff I can't remember :) I got a rug for my living room that I have been coveting, some great house shoes, tank tops, a cake stand, clothes, ect. James got a blu ray surround sound system, a million dvds, gloves, books, books and more books, a barnes and noble membership, and so much more! We had a great time celebrating with our families, but don't take my word for it, here are some pictures as proof :) His super cute Christmas PJ's

Christmas Update

Okay, so I decided to write a letter, even though I am not actually sending out cards, this is what it would have said :)

"This year has been great for us! Not only did we get to spend a ton of time together, but we got to add a perfect little baby to our family :) As you may know Thomas entered this world on September 14. A month early! He unfortuatnly had to spend a whole 8 days in the NICU because he was so early, and it was pretty hard on James and I. But we made it, and it was so worth it! He was having a hard time eating, and also had a slight infection around his umbilical cord. He is doing great now, growing all the time! 3 months old already. He can roll over whenever he feels like (which is usually only once a day, then he's sick of it). He can lift up his whole upper body, and can support his body weight on his legs. He is getting pretty at sitting up as well. We got him a Bumbo, which helps a lot!
James has done great this year! He is still in school studying Criminal Justice. And loving every minute of it (well, most of the minutes!) He loved his classes this last semester, Forensics and Criminal Processes. They were very interesting, and he did great! He is still working for NuSkin, and they have been very good to him this year. He does such a great job at working everyday so that I can stay home and play all day with the baby! He is teaching sunday school, and he is the BEST teacher if I do say so myself :) He is a wonderful dad, and he is loving every minute of it. Thomas always gets so excited when James comes home, and he just smiles at him non stop, it's one of my favorite things to do to watch them interact.
I am loving life as a mom! I was able to complete my Associates Degree in April, and I am almost done with my Bachelors as well. Only a little bit long, thankfully. I plan on finishing up with EVERYTHING and graduating college finally by August of 2011. I will have my degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Human Resources. I get to spend my days just hanging out at home with my perfect baby boy, playing with him, cooking yummy food (one of my favorite past times, it's not a chore if you like doing it) taking care of our house (which suprisingly, is enjoyable! I love that it's my home, and that I get to take care of it)
We got to go to Hawaii this year, it was so awesome! Of course I was 7 months pregnant, and I am pretty sure it was 200 degrees the whole time, but it was so great! Beautiful, and so fun!
We live blessed lives, and are constantly giving thanks for all we have been given.
Merry Christmas to everyone we love! We hope you all enjoy your holiday seasons."

Insane Snow!

That's right, we have an insane amount of snow! At least a full foot came down last night, it is AWESOME! Thomas's first real snow storm, and I am so excited to get pictures of him in it! and just in time for Christmas too! I promise to post pictures as soon as I have them! We are also so very excited for Christmas! Our families are also looking forward to it! Thomas will probably have more gifts than we do ;) Merry christmas to all of our friends and family! We love you all! and wish we could spend this holiday season with all of you! Enjoy it :)

Girls Night

Last night I was able to go out with all of my old roomies and celebrate the upcoming marriage of Megan, it was great! We all had so much fun! We went to Bombay house and had amazing food, and then opened gifts at Jenny's house. Unfortunatly Thomas decided to have a total melt down right after dinner, so James brought him to me and I fed him, and missed most of the gift opening, but I still had a blast! It is so fun to see Megan getting married, I love it! And I am so excited for her!

In other news, Thomas is sleeping through the night! He gets a solid 6-7 hours straight, and then also a few more before and after that. But that means James and I go to bed at around 11 and don't have to get up till 5 or 6 in the morning! It's glorious, and it's done so much for my sense of exhuastion. I get to sleep through an entire sleep cycle without interuption! We still haven't made him sleep in his crib all night, we do have him sleep there for a few hours, but when he wakes up at 11 to eat, we bring him into our bed and let him sleep with us. We are slowly working on having him be in his own room, but he's only 3 months old, and we really like having him so close to us!

The NuSkin Christmas party was GREAT! We all had so much fun, Brian Regan was great! We got an awesome canopy at the gift and a gift card to Costco, so we are going shopping this weekend :) Party!

James took one final so far, and did great! He got an A-, go him! He has his final one tonight and then we start to get to enjoy some time off. He gets a whole week off for the holidays (it's split up a little, but still!) and I can't tell you how excited I am for it! I love when he gets time off (especially paid time off!) and I know Thomas loves it. Whenever James is home Thomas just stares at him constantly, he follows him with his eyes and he smiles so big when he hears his voice. It really warms my heart. Thomas has become so smiley, it's just the best. The most rewarding thing ever is when your child smiles at you, it just makes all the world better!

Christmas decorations

That's right, we have ours up, and have for about 2 weeks now :) I got a little over zealous and asked James to get them out before Thanksgiving, and then, being the AMAZING husband he is, he set most of them up for me! I then went through and did them the way I wanted :) and we decorated the tree together. Then, he bought me some more decorations that were for our apartment this year, wonderful garland that I put lights on, it's great! We also have 75% of our christmas shopping done and presents wrapped under the tree. Christmas is so exciting this year, I am so happy to celebrate with Thomas! We got him the cutest outfit with a penguin on it, and it's awesome! We have Christmas parties galore coming up this week, on Wednesday we have the NuSkin party, and guess who is the entertainment..... BRIAN REGAN! Party! and then on Thursday is our ward party. Tonight is my family Christmas party, and then we have James family too. I just LOVE this season, everything sparkles and glitters, and people are all out shopping and getting things for one another, and wearing awesome clothes, it's the best!

Cutest baby, and the best Christmas present ever!

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

That's right, Thomas rolled over! Twice! And hasn't done it since :) He is also holding up his weight on his legs, doing a mini push up, and sitting up partially by himself! The not so fun things he has started doing is drooling.... Yuck, but he is awesome! I can't believe how big he's getting, 2 1/2 months!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thomas had his first Thanksgiving, it was great! We had tons of yummy food, and he was so cute (as always!) And then on Black Friday, we did some major shopping. Walmart at Midnight, which was INSANE! And we only got about half of what we wanted anyway. But Thomas was super great! He just hung out in the baby carrier with James, and slept. Then we went home and slept a little, and James and my mom went back out at 4:30 (I stayed with Thomas because he was sleeping, and we didn't want to get him up) then they came back, and Drea and I joined them, and we hit a few more stores. All in all, it was a sucess. The real suprise came at like 11 am on Friday, we went back to Walmart because my parents wanted to look at something, and come to find out the Blu Ray surround sound system I wanted to get James, but had given up on cause Walmart was so nuts, was still there! So we decided to get it! PARTY! I didn't have the heart to make him wait for Christmas to get it, so I gave it to him on Saturday ;) Now it's all set up, and we watched Iron Man 2 on Blu Ray last night, it was so fun! All in all, it was awesome! Here is a picture to prove it!

1 1/2 pounds

That's how much Thomas gained in the last two weeks! Our little man is getting so freaking big! He had his 2 month appointment this morning, and it went well.

11 lbs 3 oz

23.5 inches

Growing like crazy! The doc did all of the regular check up things, and when he put Thomas on his back on the exam table, he kept trying to roll away from the doctor. Then he pulled his head up off the table and the doctor says "He's lifting his head!" like it was a suprise or something, so I told him Thomas does that all the time! Then as he was checking his hips and legs, Thomas didn't like it, and fought back a little, the doctor said "Wow, he has really strong legs!"

Moral of the story? We have a strong little boy who is growing way to fast! But he is also the cutest kid to have ever come to this earth (I know every mother and father think that, but this time I am pretty sure I am right) Don't get me wrong, other babies are cute as well, some are even adorable, but Thomas, well no one can even try and hold a candle to him :) (I get to brag a little, I'm his mom!)

Don't you just love the overalls?!

Celebrate!

I have made it back to my pre pregnancy weight (well, the weight I was at my first check up for being pregnant, so maybe before I was pregnant it was different, who cares!) and I am so excited! A few weeks ago I got on a scale at my in laws, and it told me I had lost 40 lbs, which excited me, but then I went to the dr, and found out their scale is very wrong :( Oh well, I am doing good! Now I just have to loose the weight from taking birth control and soon I will be back to my goal weight (what I weighed when James and I were dating)!

Growing

That's what Mr. Thomas is doing, all the time! James and I still can't believe how big he is getting! He is about 2 ft long and 10 lbs. We had to adjsut the shoulder straps on his car seat (already!) becaue he is too tall for it. He is only two months old and i am already wishing he would stop growing! But he is doing GREAT! WE are loving being parents, it's really the best!
We went to St George this weekend with James parents to see their new house, it's awesome! It needs a little bit of help fixing it up, but it's going to be great! It has 5 bedrooms and a little Casita as they call it. There is a pomegrante tree inthe backyard, I just love it!
Thanksgiving is on it's way! I can't wait for Thomas's first thanksgiving and the holidays following it. We are going to do some Black Friday shopping, leave the baby with my dad and shop! We are spending Thanksgiving with my parents this year because James parents will be on a 3 week cruise from Italy to brazil, pretty intense! I am just so excited for it all, turkey, potatoes, snow, I just love it!! Anyhow, that's the news from the Harris family!

Birthday and Halloween

So halloween was awesome! Thomas was the cutest little monkey EVER! His costume that Heather (James co-worker) gave him was just perfect! It fit almost perfectly, and it was just so adorable! James and his co workers all dressed up as greek gods and goddesses for a costume contest at NuSkin. They were the Gods of NuSkin, James was the god of Vitality (the newest product at NuSkin) And then Heather, Shay and Jen were the goddesses of The Spa, True Face Essence Ultra, and Ageloc. They were great! I had a ton of fun watching them do their skit and everything, they took second place. I think they should have been first, but NuSkin politics and such, who cares! It was awesome! Then for my birthday we went to my parents house, played, had chicken and dumplings and yummy cake, and passed out candy, awesome! On my real birthday we took Thomas to his appt, he is now 9.9 lbs and 23 inches long (freakin tall little kid, I have no idea where he gets it from!) then went to lunch with my parents, mexcican-so good!, and Kyle and Sanny came and looked at our open apartment, and then we had dinner with James family, wingers-also good!, and did I forget to mention James took the day off? It was just perfect! I got to spend my whole day with my two favorite guys, ate lots of yummy food, and had a blast! Here are some pictures of it all!

My New Favorite Picture

I just love it, because of Thomas face :) This was after we put him in the pumpkin and we gave him a bath, it's as if he is saying to James "What do you think you are going to do with that?!" I love our little man!

October fun!

Jenny got married last weekend, and Thomas was blessed, it was an insane week. It was a lot of fun. Thomas was an angel all weekend! The wedding went great, we all had a really good time, and the weather was perfect. The food at the reception was AMAZING! David and Jessica (James brother and sister in law) were in charge, and seriously, it was the best! We had so much good food, I was stuffed all weekend long! The backyard at my in laws was beautiful, it all turned out really really well. The Harris family is amazing!
Then on Sunday Thomas got blessed, and we had a great turn out. We all went back to John and Courtney's house for roast and potatoes, it was delicious! My sister in law Mary took pictures of Thomas blessing outfit, so those will come later :) But I have a few from the wedding, so you can see his awesome outfit!

We carved pumpkins the other day, and decided to take a cute picture of Thomas in a pumpkin. He hated it. Really hated it, he screamed and yelled, but stopped for 2 seconds so we could get a cute pictuer. He's amazing, and already working the camera :) So fun! We can't wait for Halloween so he can wear his cute monkey costume!

Getting Stuff Done

So today I finally broke down and asked for some help from my mom. I have been trying really hard to get it all done myself (I am not sure if it is some crazy pride thing "I can do it all by myself!" or if i am just worried about bothering her...) but I did it! So she and my younger sister came over today and watched the baby while I cleaned my apartment, and I mean my whole apartment (sans bedroom, which is just so annoying that I have given up on it, no matter how much I clean it, it just doesn't stick) I got the dishes done, the groceries put away (from my 3 trips to the grocery store this week, eventually I will be organized enough not to need to go so many times, but as it is, I always realize there is something else I need just hours after I go, it's inevitable) I cleaned up my living room, did the laundry, started working on Thomas' blessing outfit, made some homemade oreos and a few other little things I have been needing to do. All in a matter of 3 hours. It is the most productive 3 hours of my life since having a baby. It's okay that I only did laundry because both myself and Thomas were out of clean clothes, and it doesn't matter that Thomas' blessing is on Sunday, and I should have made his outfit days ago, today was a good day for me!

World's Best Father

Yeah, that's James! He is freakin' awesome! Last night Thomas decided he wanted to be fussy, which was not a good night for Mommy here. He didn't sleep great the night before, and he wouldn't let me nap either, and on top of that I promised my mom I would go shopping with her, so I was thoroughly exhausted. At about midnight Thomas still wouldn't sleep, and he ate like every hour from around 8, he just wouldn't be satisfied. So finally, with Thomas screaming, and me crying right along with him, I woke up James and handed him the baby. I normally don't wake him, cause Iam a stay at home mom, and he has to go to work, so I try to take the night time feedings myself. But I couldn't do it, so last night, Jame took him, and he slept for a full 4 hours! It was wonderful, James stayed up all night keeping Thomas quiet and letting me sleep. He is the best! I am so lucky and blessed to have such a great husband and baby :)

Motherhood

Thomas is 4 weeks old today! It is going so fast, and at the same time it seems like he has always been a part of our little family. I love being a mom. It's just the best blessing ever :) He is getting so big already! We have another doctor's appointment on Tuesday, a check up and what not, so we will see just how big he is getting :) It's fun being home with him all day, sometimes it's hard because I can't go anywhere "really quick" anymore. Which I was used to, just grab my keys and go, but now it's grab the baby, the diaper bag, the bobby, make sure I have changes of clothes, and diapers and wipes and blankets and my wallet and cell phone and keys, it's insane! The other day James and I went to a bridal shower (Congrats Jenny, we are so excited for you!) and we both took two trips to the car, making sure we had everything for the day (it was actually rather comical!)
I LOVE fall! I am getting out my big bin of winter clothes today :) I am still working on getting to fit back in them, although I am getting insanely close to being my pre-pregnancy size again, my doctor hasn't approved me for physical activity, so I can't really work out, but I am doing little things :) I can't wait to pull out my jackets and sweaters and boots, and scarves, I love it!
James made it through convention, it was actually quite a bit slower than anyone expected, but he still worked 60 hours last week, it was nuts. Thomas and I really missed him, but this week has been better, and last weekend my parents let us stay the night in their timeshare, it was a fun break, and we had delicious Salmon (cooked the same way I always cook it, but for some reason it was better this time!) Life is pretty freakin awesome, Thomas is the best baby ever (other than when he has gas, it kills me, because he cries until he can burp, and it takes a while sometimes) James is by far the best husband ever, seriously, he is always asking how he can help me out around the house, he gets up in the middle of the night to change diapers, he is just awesome! I love him :)

Taxes

James and I finally got our tax return! (10 months later) I mailed them in in January... Oh how i loathe the IRS, but now we have money we don't have any plans for... Shopping Spree?

Electronics

So it would seem that everything I use that is electronic has decided to quit working this week. My cell phone has begun screening my calls for me, by just not ringing, or even acknowledging that I am getting a call at all. James has to call me two or three times before I even know he is calling. Our internet is another issue all together. It just comes and goes, it used to do that, but for a while now it's been fine, until now. And I thought maybe my location in our apartment (which honestly, isn't big enough that it should make a difference) would help, but no. I am just destined to have a love hate relationship with the internet.

On another note Josh (my older brother) came to visit. He was just as enchanted by my little Thomas as everyone else. It's fun to see everyone love him so much. It's even more fun for James to show him off. He is such a proud dad! I just love it. He asks me to come and stop by to visit him so he can show Thomas to all his co workers (of course he is happy to see me too, but Thomas is much more exciting than I am!) James is such a wonderful father, and he doesn't even realize it. He is so good about offering to change Thomas in the middle of the night so that I don't have to. Even though I try really hard to let James sleep at night because he has a job and I am a stay at home mom, Thomas is a loud eater, and tends to wake up James. But he is so great about it, I love my two guys :)

Growth Spurts

"Please, no more pictures!"
So Thomas has started going through a growth spurt (or at least that is what my reading tells me) He has started eating like every hour (which is killing me, because I don't get any sleep), he acts as though we starve him and screams until I feed him. Which is new, he is a very calm kid most of the time, but I guess a growing boy needs his food :)

James' teacher was really understanding about him missing class, he was really nice to him. Which was good, cause it stressed James a good bit. Now he has only one class and we are hoping that teacher is just as awesome... fingers crossed!

Welcome to the world of blogging!

So I have decided to take the plunge and start a blog! It sounds pretty exciting, and now that we (James and I) have the cutest baby on the planet, I figured maybe I should have a place to post and talk all about him and put up a million pictures! So here goes!
Now I have to figure out how to make my blog look exciting like all the cute ones I see online :) Wish me luck!
And here are a few pictures for everyone! (actually, give me a little time, I have to figure out how to do it!)
